    SMS Headers

i guess this is the proper section.
what im trying to avoid here is a fuckin sms gateway.

but i have a few things setup. one of which is a mail server. And using the php mail function, i would like to be able to send proper headers to a cellphone to get the device to read the message properly and display properly.
What i have so far is a small little block of code that will send out headers for certain carriers. so far i have it set for at&t and verizon. I have no reports on other carriers not working based off these 2 different header blocks i have.
my issue comes in where on some devices... the message cant be opened at all. i have reports that other devices never even got the message.
Anyone can shed any light on this?

    Code:
    Reported Carrier: verizon or other
    Under Detected Carrier: vzwpix.com

    From Line: 7315555555@vzwpix.com

    Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1

above is my personal log information for an example message sent out.
As you can see, my headers are displayed here for everything that is not at&t.
and it appears that its most android devices that have this issue. what is wrong with these headers that they cant be read using a sms client?

I dunno. You'll probably have to use a gateway or send them as regular emails to SMS domains like @vzwpix.com, etc.... That's how I've done it. If you find something that works for you let me know, I would be interested in it.

    Re: SMS Headers

well ive been trying to avoid an sms gateway.
and yeah i am currently using the sms mms domain
    vzwpix.com for verizon
    mms.att.net for at&t
if i try to send to the normal text domain, they dont work.

I was just wondering if there was anything else i could do as far as this goes.
Once i get all of this working perfect, i can create an interactive messaging service like i did on my windows box with hMailServer.
Ive done alot of research, couldnt find anything about proper headers for sms. I guess what i have is right.
it may just be the actual phones that are having problems handling it

You may want to check out Google Voice SMS. I've seen people automate it to act like an SMS Gateway to send and receive text messages.
